KILL - TIFF 2023 Review

Writer: Treena ChristineTreena Christine

The Midnight Madness crowd really made experiencing this film that much more amazing. It was the world premiere for and what a better time to debut it than at some of the craziest nights ever; TIFF’s Midnight Madness

Energy was high when director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat walked out on stage and told us that the film contained “Blood, blood and more blood”. Wonderful!

The Film contained - which is a Bollywood flick- contained just the right amount of cheese and hilarious romantic moments.  They really balance out all of the killing and brutality later on.

The first part of Kill was a little slow. The whole first part of the film contained info that was important for us to know for events later on. Once things started to pick up though - after the film title (which came up an hour in) - we were on a roll.

I need to switch gears and talk about the fight choreography for a second. It was absolutely on point for the entire film. Every fight was super clean and every blow had the audience redling. or maybe not reeling. Every time our main man (played by Lakshya Lalwani) dealt a deadly blow and the audience wert absolutely wild. Not going to lie, I also went absolutely wild.

I was so impressed by every single actor’s output in their performances. You could clearly understand the characters and their emotions, see their pain and follow their actions.

It was a really enjoyable film with a semi-satisfying ending. The whole film is a wild ride and totally worth a watch.
